Thank you for considering helping Rafiki to sustain itself and continue to care for children. Sponsorships provide much-needed financial support for the orphanage as they struggle to provide food, water, electricity, education, medical care, and security for the children. The total cost for each child to stay at Rafiki is around $90/month. There are a couple of ways you can help monetarily support the orphanage.
First, you can sponsor a child. If you choose this option, your monthly contribution will go into that child’s account and will initially pay for school supplies and health care. When the child is old enough to leave the orphanage to either go to college or start learning a trade, the remainder of the money in his/her account will be used to help make that transition. Until then, you will be able to keep in contact with him/her through this website.
Second, you can make a donation. If you choose this option, your one-time or ongoing contribution will help the orphanage cover the day-to-day costs of running the orphanage: food, water, electricity, supplies, maintenance, teachers, and other staff.
Update: Right now Rafiki is transitioning to becoming an official non-profit. If you are interested in making a donation, please email mk.stratton11@gmail.com for ways you can donate during this transition.
I would like to make a donation but there is no "Rafiki Friends" listed in the drop-down under " I want my donation to be designated toward.." Please advise.
